In today's video, we're taking a closer look at the Dareu A950 Pro Magnesium Alloy Gaming Mouse. The primary reason I picked this up is due to its impressive build quality. Made from magnesium alloy, it offers a unique feel that differentiates it from typical plastic mice while maintaining a lightweight and robust structure.
The Dareu A950 Pro AL-MG is constructed from magnesium alloy, giving it a distinct tactile feel compared to plastic. Despite its lightweight nature, it feels solid and rigid, similar to my Lenovo X13 Gen 4 Ultrabook, which also features a magnesium alloy body. The mouse weighs approximately 54 grams without any additional stickers or grip tape, making it super lightweight yet sturdy.
One of the unique design elements of the Dareu A950 Pro AL-MG is its perforated body. These perforations can be felt when resting your palm on the mouse. Initially, this might seem annoying, but over time, you barely notice it. It’s a feature you get used to rather quickly.
The mouse comes with grip tape that you can attach to the sides, left and right clicks, and the back. If you find the mouse uncomfortable, the grip tape can enhance the feel. Additionally, the mouse includes replacement pads that allow you to adjust how it glides on your mouse mat, offering a personalized gaming experience.
The Dareu A950 Pro AL-MG is equipped with the PixArt PMW3395 sensor, which supports up to 26,000 DPI. This sensor is known for its accuracy and is a relatively new addition to the market. It’s a high-performance sensor that’s also found in other reputable gaming mice.
Included in the package is a 4000 Hz receiver, a pleasant surprise since many mice offer this as an optional upgrade. This receiver can make the mouse feel more responsive in most games. However, some games might have compatibility issues with 4000 Hz. Thankfully, Daru provides software that allows you to adjust the polling rate to 250 Hz, 1000 Hz, or 500 Hz, ensuring compatibility with all your games.
The mouse features a 2.4 GHz wireless switch, Bluetooth switch, and an on/off button. The DPI adjuster is located on the back, which might not be the most convenient if you frequently change DPI settings during gameplay.
It includes a type-C port for charging and a braided USB cord. The package also comes with a carrying case, making it ideal for gamers who travel. The thoughtful inclusion of these accessories enhances the overall value of the mouse.
The Dareu A950 Pro AL-MG uses Kailh GM 8.0 black marble switches, known for their smooth clicking experience. This provides a noticeable difference, especially compared to older mice, adding to the overall gaming experience.
The Daru A950 Pro Magnesium Alloy Gaming Mouse stands out with its lightweight yet sturdy magnesium alloy build, high-performance sensor, and thoughtful accessories. While the perforated design might take some getting used to, the included grip tape and replacement pads offer customization to enhance comfort. The 4000 Hz receiver and adjustable polling rates ensure compatibility with various games, making it a versatile choice for gamers. Overall, this mouse combines luxury and functionality, making it a solid investment for serious gamers.
