  • I was not able to get the claimed speed on crystal disk mark but this might be due to my card reader

Verdict

The 400GB capacity is real and this comes at a good price. I bought mine from the Cutesliving store on AliExpess store but this is also available from the Movespeed Official Store on Aliexpress.

Design and their marketing claims

The MoveSpeed MAX arrives with some interesting quirks. It's labelled as a "TF Card", and I thought I was getting a micro SD card, this looks like a micro SD card. However, after some quick research, TF card is just an older term that's synonymous with microSD. It works with my devices just fine.

MoveSpeed also claims an attractive A2 rating (good for app performance on phones) and a V60 rating (guaranteeing a minimum sustained write speed of 60Mbps, necessary for high-resolution video). But the most eye-catching aspect might be its unusual 400GB capacity, offering a sweet spot in price compared to larger options.

Performance and true capacity

Naturally, I wanted to see if the Movespeed MAX lives up to the hype, particularly with video recording in mind.

Real-world testing Testing on my Camera

Using my Panasonic S5 II camera, this card effortlessly captured 4K footage at 60fps at a data rate of 200000 kbps, a promising sign for videographers. I shook the camera around and went through different lighting scenes and it captured everything well in MOV.

When transferring the footage to PC, with my card reader I was also getting a consistent 90MBps transfer speed which was decent speed and speeds up transfers.

Crystal Disk Mark

During benchmarks like CrystalDiskMark, I got respectable speeds of around 94MBps read/82MBps write. This is lower than I was expecting however this could be limited by my card reader.

I did run this test to compare against a SanDisk SD card as I was also getting around 94MBps read/write which leads me to believe my card reader may be capped out at this speed.

H2test2

The H2testw capacity check was reassuring. Not only was the 400GB capacity genuine (capacity of 375560MB once formatted), but it maintained a steady write speed of around 70MBps throughout the hour-long test. This consistency is crucial for smooth video recording.

Conclusion:

The 400GB capacity is real and this comes at a unbeatable price. I bought mine from the Cutesliving store on AliExpess store but this is also available from the MoveSpeed Official Store on Aliexpress.

The MoveSpeed MAX microSD card, despite not quite hitting the manufacturer's top speed claims with my SD card reader I am more than satisfied with its value and video performance. While it might not be the absolute fastest card on the market, it's a solid and cost-effective choice for anyone who needs reliable, high-capacity storage for their video projects.
